Description
So we brewed 4 weeks ago, fermented for almost two weeks, carbonated for two and we opened one the first West Coast Pale Ale last night to give it a try.

We were absolutely SHOCKED at how much head there was, and how small and tight the bubbles were. The beer was surprisingly good too. I don't quite enjoy that molasses flavor in my beers, but this was quite enjoyable for our first brew.

I picked up a refill kit from BB&B so we've got the Canadian Draft fermenting now and will bottle it Friday. The Canadian's wort smelled very similar to the WCPA so I'm hoping it has a better flavor profile than that of the WCPA and is a bit drier. What a fantastically fun hobby!!

Congrats on your first beer. Your brewing will only improve
over time as you perfect your methods and brew to your own
taste. The molasses flavor you are getting is a combination of
a young beer and a little "Extract Twang" that will mostly fall
out with a couple 3 weeks of cold conditioning.
