Besides simply pouring the wort in and out of fermenters, does anyone have any (simple) techniques for aerating wort? Or does pouring suffice?

2-3 minutes with a sanatized wisk for a MB batch. On a 5 gallon
batch just pouring it into the bucket may be enough.

has worked well for the last 10 or so batches...maybe one day i will step up to an aeration stone and O2

That sprayer seems pretty nifty, I just bought an auto siphon, and will be using 3 gallon better bottle wannabies, so that seems like the perfect little gizmo. Let the siphon and that sprayer do the work for you, one less thing to do or worry about.

So Stinkfist, is that sprayer enough on its own, is that all you use to areate? No problems with it?

yep that is all I use...it foams up pretty good so I am assuming I am getting good aeration...just want to try and keep the tube straight up and down so it hits the little cone...I am sure using oxygen and a stone is better but this probably works better than just pouring it in...and trying to shake a 6 gallon better bottles is no easy task...lol so this works fine

I use an aquarium pump and aeration stone, but want to upgrade to O2 so I can just do it for a minute or two and be done with it.

i found an old medical O2 tank downstairs... my dad has sleep apnea and doesn't use it anymore. i will be taking that with me when i move out, fo sho.

similarly, you can get an oxygen regulator, like this:
http://morebeer.com/view_product/16606/beerwinecoffee/Oxygen_Regulator_-_For_Disposable_Tanks_w_Barb

and some tubing and a diffusion stone, like this:
http://morebeer.com/view_product/18252/102299/Diffusion_Stone_-_2_Micron_Oxygen_Stone

and hook it up to a little red oxygen benzomatic tank they sell at lowes or HD, next to the butane and MAPP gas... i think the tank is like $10. so for $40ish you got a system ready to go smile

note: links for reference, not saying "go buy it there"... lots of online HBS's have that stuff, and your LHBS (if you have one) may have them, too.

What does the experience with your process tell you about how well it works?

Do you get good...complete fermentation?
Is attenuation what you expect?

I use a combination of splashy siphoning followed by a few rounds of vigorous whisking with good results.

The wisk has proven to work fine for Mr.Beer fermenters...I'll 2nd that. But with my next couple batches going into 3 gallon Better Bottle wannabie that little cone will be a nice addition to my auto siphon. I will have to pick up one of those.

All I have used to date is the "little brown keg" and to date a couple minutes of "whipping into submission" with a wire whisk
seems to do the trick just fine for me. I agree with a larger batch more industrial methods might be in order.
