Well if you really want some insight into how bogus the judging is, my buddy who took the gold medal in the Belgian strong category ran out of his round 1 brew, so rebrewed it for the second round and was unhappy with the results so he entered a bottle he brewed 3 years earlier and that is the bottle that won the gold.
