Thanks!! PM has been sent to HAC. I also want to put out there that I am willing to try anything, not just recipe of the month!! I'll post a review and I'll send a beer to you, once I have some done. Now, on to the questions:
1) When did you start brewing and what made you interested? I started brewing in February of 2011. I wanted to start brewing for a couple of years but didn’t have the space or time to keep up with it. Once I was done with school the urge really hit and I was going to get a starter kit when my wife surprised me with a Mr. Beer kit for Valentine’s Day!! I can’t really explain why I wanted to brew. I live in Oklahoma and we have a really crappy selection of beer so I wanted to start making my own and seeing what I could do.
2) What is your favorite beer? My favorite beer is probably anything Belgian. If I HAD to pick one favorite, it would be a tough choice between New Belgium’s La Terroir, Tripel Karmeliet, or La Fin Du Monde. I can’t wait to get out of Oklahoma and try more beers!!
3) Who would you most like to share a beer with? This may sound stupid but I want to share a beer with my dad. He had problems with alcohol when he was younger and met my mom and she made him a Christian and he wound up becoming a preacher. Because of his beliefs and his previous problems he REALLY hates alcohol. I can’t even talk about it with him. He has no idea that I drink or brew and I would love nothing more than to sit down with him and have some home brew that I made. Since I know this will never happen, I would love to share one with everyone here, either in person or in spirit by trying something you send me or I send you!! Once I get some more brewed I plan to send some out for reviews!!
4) What is your favorite recipe(s)? So far my favorite beer has been my cream ale. The wife wanted something nice and light and this was my first recipe with steeping grains and it turned out great!! I got some friends to drink it and they all loved it. I plan to brew it again soon to enjoy this spring. I am also really looking forward to my next few brews, a tripel, Amarillo pale ale and an AG Blonde ale.
I also wanted to thank everyone here. I found this site not long after getting my kit and you have really helped me out and helped me grow. In the span of just a few months I went from brewing Mr. Beer recipes to making my own and soon going to partial mash and all grain!! I never thought I would make it this far and I wouldn’t have without the people here. Thanks!!
