So I am an avowed fermenter sampler. I tasted this recipe (in which i followed the basic brewing video) and I have to say. It is turning out very tasty. Can't wait to see how it tastes when done. It is very grapefruit forward right now.

That's Amarillo! Love, love, LOVE Amarillo (especially since Thorn gets green pepper notes from Cascades, and she despises green pepper).

It is really great. Big citrus aroma. Hoppy, but not overly bitter. I can hardly wait (my first partial mash too).

Ok, bottled this one yesterday. I have dubbed it Howling wheat, and it tasted great flat so I can't wait for it to carb and condition.

Well the results are in. It only conditioned a week but it tasted great and the carbonation was good after a few days in the fridge. I know 2-2-2 but if it tastes good, why wait.

So the Howling wheat was light in color with about a half inch head that took a min or two to fade to the lace which remained for theentire glass. Aroma was decidedly of grapefruit. Flavor was crisp and dry with a pleasent slightly acidic start (could be due to grapefruit aroma), but with a wheat finish. Easy drinking and very refreshing.

Went well with spicy food (jerk chicken). I will definately be making this again.

Professor I know this was your original post....this one is definatly worth a try IMO.

It's kinda funny.
I had a thought about introducing an easy partial mash to new Mr. Beer Brewers.
Shortly after I started the thread Basic Brewing did almost exactly that for one of their shows.
And now a new brewer has made a first partial mash.
The thread has not been hijacked, and congrats.
Hope someone else tries an easy partial mash as well.
