I make those most times I use grains. I use mini muffin pans to get uniform sized treats. I usually get 48 from each batch.

My dog loves them so much that when I put the grains in the mixer, she knows what's up and starts dancing around the kitchen.

Post the recipe! I've been thinking of things to do with spent grains and this seems like the best use since my dog will eat anything and I could save some money on dog treats.

4 cups spent grain
2 cups flour
1 cup peanut butter (all natural)
2 eggs

that recipe made what you see above. you can add more or less of stuff to get it to be softer or harder. we baked at 350* for 30 mins and 2 hours at 225* and stuck them in the freezer. these will mold quickly so keep them in the freezer or somewhere airtight.

our dog loves them!!

When I've made them, they dry out really well and mold isn't remotely a problem. Of course, humidity rarely makes it into double digits here, either, so mold isn't much of a problem anyway. I just keep them in a baggie on the kitchen counter.
