Technically I have another week of conditioning, but I had to sample one. Very nice carbonation. Smells a little sweet. Taste is good. I was pleasantly surprised. From what I have read another week will fix the sweetness. My wife was drinking our usual Coors light so I did a little side by side. The Mr Beer has much more carbonation, the Coors was pretty "watery" compared. I am looking forward to another week. I have my second batch, American Blonde, fermenting now.

All in all, I am very pleased so far. Look forward to trying different brews and techniques. This forum is a great place to gain knowledge and I appreciate any tips or advice.

Thanks!

I told my wife that as well. I think I said "I made this!!" about five times before I got the evil eye. i think she got the picture smile

Pretty cool intro to homebrew. Looks like I have a new hobby.

Congrats on a first successful batch...I'm guessing it was the West Coast Pale Ale, if you thought that was decent, the American Blonde will rock your socks if you like a little more flavor. The American Blonde is my favorite MB refill. I was more than pleasantly surprized the first time I made the American Blonde.

And yes, a couple more weeks of cold conditioning in the fridge will make it even better.

Congrats on making beer! You noticed that the carb was on the heavy side. dont be afraid to adjust this on your next brew, unless you like that much carb.
