Need a way to give a bottle or two of beer to friends or prep bottles for a competition, but you switched to kegging? As I understand it a beer gun allows you to inject co2 into the bottle and then dispense beer into the bottle to be capped off.

Equipment Needed
CO2 tank with gas line splitter (or a regulator with 2 outputs).
2 Picnic Tap Lines with MFL connectors
Empty Sanitized Keg
2 liquid out quick disconnect
2 bottling wands

Sanitize everything except the CO2 tank and Gas Lines.
Assemble each picnic tap
Shove a bottling wand into the tap

Purge empty keg pressure and beer keg pressure.
Connect Gas to both kegs at a low psi 2-3

Connect the bottling wand picnic taps to each keg.

Use the empty keg and wand to purge your sanitized bottle
Use the beer keg and wand to fill the CO2 filled bottle (allow to overflow)
Remove wand and cap on foam smile

That is def a cheap way to do it...but def not an easy way....lol if you are going to do much more bottling from kegs I would really suggest a beer gun...it is extremely fast and easy...but you def have to pay for it...so if you only will do it once in a blue moon this a very good idea! def accomplishes the right way to do...just a lot more work wink

I'm not sure I follow why you purge the bottle first. Don't you displace all the air when you fill it?

By purging the bottle with CO2 first you are replacing the air with CO2...this way when you fill you are not exposing your beer to any oxygen which could cause problems...

I agree that it's not ideal when doing lots and lots...but I can't invest in an actual beer gun at this point (might be leaving the country and the hobby behind)

I do like the idea of using a bottling wand. I wonder how it would work if you just ran the hose to the wand without the party valve?

depends on the pressure...if too high you might blow the end off the wand.....but if kept at a low pressure it should be fine...might also be harder to sanitize.
