I have a mini fridge, use it for fermentation, if it didnt have the stpid freezer section I could fit 5gal batches.

Cant say anything about the bottles, every fridge will be different.

I did use mine as a beer fridge for a while and from what I remember, I was able to fit 1L bottles in there. Don't know how many and I think I could only fit them on one shelf.

$150 is an ass-ton for a dorm fridge... have you checked your local CL? it'd easily fit in the back of a car, so pickup should be a breeze.

I have a small wine chiller that I use for fermenting lagers and use for chilling homebrews. Thus far,the $150 purchase has been worth it as I can squeeze my 3 Gal Carboy in it which is currently nursing a Bock

Check this out. My wife got me this one. I keep it on about a 4 setting and it gets super cold; keeps beer icy cold. Can't really fit bottles in the door but I am pretty sure you can get a bunch of those PET bottles in there, lying down.

if it were me, I wouldnt put my homebrew lying down. that will get the yeast and sediment to settle in the side of the bottle, making it easier to pour into my glass.

he may be right; I do the majority of my bottling in 12oz glass; but you could remove a shelf and fit a handfull of those PET bottles in there.

FYI with the wal mart deal you can ship "site to store" and there is no charge for shipping either.

If you want one that can easily be converted to a 2 tap kegerator or a fermentation chamber I would suggest this one...

http://www.walmart.com/ip/Danby-Designer-Compact-Refrigerator/5893621

It does not have a freezer section which makes it very easy to fit a 6 gallon better bottle or 2 5 gallon corny kegs and a 5lb CO2 tank....I know cuz its what i have wink

I'm about to convert one of these Danby's... getting my conversion kit today, hope it goes well! I actually have teh Whirlpool model WAR488W which is the equivalent (also made by Danby). Got brand new on Craigslist for $90.

Cheers

This may work as well, there's no pictures that I can find of the inside but it says it's 4.2 cu ft of non-freezer space
