Background: Newbie! My first batch of WCPA is currently fermenting and I ordered the ADIPA for my next brew.

I would like to try a brew similar to Odell Red Ale or Lumberyard Red. They are both 50 IBU and 6.5% and 5.8% ABV respectively. I'm thinking that 1 ADIPA HME and 2 cans of Bewitched Red HME would put me in the correct range at 6.9% ABV and 53 IBU. Does this sound about right? Anything different/special I would need to do when brewing (different yeast, 2 yeast packets, etc.)?

Thanks!

use all of the yeast packets for sure, I might even get a better dry yeast, something like us-05 or similar.

go for it! i've never had the ADIP or Bewitch Red before, but it sounds like it should be a good beer...

if you have a local homebrew shop (LHBS) nearby, head over there and pick up an 11.5 gram packet of US-05 dry yeast... it's an american ale yeast, with a very clean profile. if not, use as many of those MrB yeast packets you have (up to 5 or 6). a good pitch of yeast is imperative to a good beer.

have you looked into rehydrating your yeast?

Is there a link you all can point me to for what yeast is best for what brews? I'll pick up some US-05 when I get ready for this brew!
