I was finishing out the recipe last night when I got to looking at my fermentation schedule. I noticed that it was time to keg the Berliner Weisse and I thought why not pitch onto the active yeast. A Berliner Weisse brew day is short so I decided that I could take care of the Dubbel and the Weisse in one day.

The last batch had acid malt as well, batch 1 didn't. The last batch was a mixture of base malts, due to being out of Pilsen Malt and Pale malt. I will be sure to keep you abreast of what is happening.

The bung got shot out of the better bottle and I have a huge mess, and an unhappy wife, to clean-up. I have now cleaned out the airlock three times and have had to clean the bung and place it back into the better bottle. I should know by now what happens when you pitch onto an active yeast cake.

I tried to stick some beverage line into the bung, but I didn't heat it up so it wasn't malleable. I couldn't think of anything else to use.
