I thought they were 11 year cycles but I'll guess 2013 even though we just recently got hit by a major solar flare.

I was looking for a month and year, since the peak doesn't last a whole year and NASA predicts peaks in month/year increments. (We're in Solar Cycle 24 by the way; if anyone cares we are looking at a lower frequency of vastly more intense solar storms this cycle.)

Additionally, to satisfy "peak activity" definition for HI, it is the month where the Sun has the most sunspots and the most flares in its cycle.

Also, the cycle is actually more like 23 years (FNORD), but I only know that because a dear friend of mine is a heliophysicist so I thought that was unfair to ask
