Anyone know a good place to get bottle caps for cheap? Mr. Beer was $.50 for 8 but jacked the price up to $2.95 for 8. I can get 24 for $4.50 at most home brew places but I am trying to see if there is a way to get them in large numbers. I can by 24 - 1/2 Liter bottles without caps for pretty cheap and now I am trying to work on capping them.

To be clear, you mean the plastic style caps that Mr. Beer includes with their kits?

You could always find some people who drink coke or whatever, and ask them to save theirs. There are a few different heights, but after a short time, you'd get a good idea what size fits.

Otherwise, I have zero personal experience with this. Good luck, though!

Cheapest place I've seen so far is http://www.brewgadgets.com/p-129-plastic-bottle-caps.aspx
$4.29 for 25, actual shipping costs.

$4.37 for 25 with actual shipping costs from http://labelpeelers.com/28-mm-closure-caps-for-pet-bottles-p-2502.html

Wow, I just threw in an order with my bottling wand and spigot yesterday from Mr. Beer for 50 cents. Talk about a 1 day price jump.
