Mammy here with another totally unrelated to home brewing topic. I was sitting here at my PC listening to the birds chirping out on the front lawn and turn my head to see 5 robins! This is Michigan, there are no robins in Michigan in February. Traditionally robins are considered one of the first signs of spring (late March, early April).

This has been a very mild winter, I wonder if we are going to have an early spring? Anyone hear the long term forecast?

I keep expecting the other shoe to drop, so to speak, and bury us with a huge storm. Daffodils next to my house are blooming. Going to be near 70 on Thursday. This is just weird.

yeah, we have managed to make it this far with about 1" of snow total. very few days have dipped below freezing. it's been odd, that's for sure. i just hope summer doesn't kick us in the tail like it did last summer.

I would *love* to see a huge dumping of snow before the end of March...but long term forecasts (more than 10-14 days out) are pretty unpredictable...there's just too much that could change too quickly as far as the weather's concerned.

Sorry, no big snowfalls in the forecast. A lowflying Bluejay
crossed the road in front of me this afternoon so that pretty
much settles it.

Bluejays are year round, aren't they? For some reason it seems like parts of Europe got some of the cold weather this winter that we usually seenot to mention tons of snow. WHo knows what spring and summer will bring.

Jacylrin, didn't you get hit with snow Sunday? We were in Virginia and got up and left early so we could get out of the state before it hit. We got caught picking my son up from school for Christmas break three years ago and it took us 3 days to get home.

I'm in northern Virginia. We only had a light flurry and it didn't stick.

Those Robins were once considered a game bird. Might be good to
know in a survival situation. I guess almost any song bird would be fair
game if lost in the woods for days with Mammy's pellet rifle.

Song birds, squirrels, small deer...seriously, have you looked at the stats on that thing!? Its spring-loaded power is better than some primitive firearms were!
