And with it a big part of the message of the show is kinda lost.
Even though she was just ditzy, not "retarded" as many of the haters say, changing her kind of defeats the whole "Tolerance" message in the show.
But in the end its just a kids show we watch for fun, no reason to get too worked up over it. Plus I have the original episode saved on my DVR so I can listen to classic derp whenever.
I still look forward to finding her hidden in each episode, and now we can focus on more important background ponies. Long Live Lyra!
