OK, so I'm looking at doing this because...
I have the soloflex, a Keg, an 80quart Hobart kettle.
SO, I think I can rig up an upper class hillbilly brewery.

If you remember the soloflex it's a big "L" shaped square tube frame.
The Kettle is already on a frame of it's own, with a huge burner under it.
If I boil the water in the kettle, it tips to dump into the keg to batch sparge. Then if I used a winch laugh to raise the keg above the kettle I can drain back into the kettle to boil. Then lower the keg and dump wort back into the keg. Immersion chiller(?) Ferment in the keg(?) Anything else? Crazy???

sounds like it would work i think you should use immersion chiller though and why not ferment in the keg

oh and the winch idea ... GREAT

Look up Sabco and check out MoreBeer's towers. That should give you a few ideas.

Check out the Brew Ladder at the bottom of this newsletter.

+1 on "Watch This" grin

$30 for the Ladder, $80 for the cd add-on! HA! I love it.
I don't know how fancy I want to get - I really just do have this stuff lying around and have been thinking about how to do it without significant additional investment. If the winch was really expensive I'd get another pot, but right now it's only $60 for electric w/remote.

Here's the best soloflex example I found. Not quite what I'm planning to build, but it's still a good inspiration.

You don't have any unused exercise equipment? Use a treadmill as a grain conveyor, and the Total gym as a sliding shelf to move your boil pot on and off the flame, if you have a weight stack you can use it as a counterweight to help move full kettles around more easily. laugh

Or am I the only one who quit working out? frown
